The Pakistan Cricket Board is likely to start a new inquiry against former leg-spinner Danish Kaneria after Spot-Fixing confession. The former leggie had recently accepted his guilt in the spot-fixing case which kept him out of action. In fact, Kaneria got a ban for life by England Cricket Board. Kaneria was guilty of spot-fixing players in the English County season.

Consequently, Danish Kaneria had to deal with the repercussions. However,  in 2012, PCB followed the International Cricket Council’s Anti-Corruption protocol and ratified the life ban on Kaneria.

PCB to launch another inquiry.

Meanwhile, Kaneria went on to lose the round of appeals against his life ban. Furthermore, Kaneria will need to pay a hefty amount of 100,000 pounds for the case to England and Wales Cricket Board.

“Kaneria’s confession is a serious matter and this week the Chairman of the board, Ehsan Mani will have deliberations with his legal team and the Board’s Anti-Corruption and Vigilance officials to see if a new inquiry should be opened up against Kaneria since he has now admitted to corruption,” a reliable source in the PCB said.

The source said the ban was done on the foreign soil, thus a fresh inquiry can be taken into consideration. Therefore, PCB will try to find out whether Kaneria’s involvement had any bad impact on Pakistan cricket.

“The board adopted a soft stance on Kaneria despite his life ban. But now it could move to completely blank him out of the cricket scenario,” the source added.

In fact, Kaneria can get a ban to appear on TV or Radio Channels. Thus, Danish will not be able to give his opinion as an expert.

“In the past, it came to the PCB’s notice that Kaneria had played in a private event in Bangkok and elsewhere but it kept quiet on it,” the source said.

Meanwhile, Danish Kaneria’s spot-fixing case is not the only one in front of PCB. The Pakistan board had earlier banned other players for their involvement with bookmakers.
