The reports of rift inside the dressing room in the wake of the World Cup exit has further made things bitter for Team India. As soon as India’s World Cup campaign ended with a defeat to New Zealand in the semifinal, reports of rift started doing the rounds. The reports claimed that the dressing room is divided among two groups with one backing Virat Kohli and other backing Rohit Sharma.

Further reports then suggested that some senior players are also unhappy with Ravi Shastri and his colleagues. As of now, there has been no official clarity on all the rumours. However, India’s bowling coach Bharat Arun has now opened up on what went inside the dressing room during the tournament. And his answer made it clear that not every individual was on the same page which perhaps was the reason behind the rumours.

Bharat Arun  said that the team does have arguments on several occasions although it is sorted out eventually.

“It’s not that we agree on everything. We have our arguments and discussions on various aspects like the composition of the team and the strategy. Everyone voices his opinion. But at the end of the day, the other person’s view is respected and a collective decision is taken,” Bharat Arun told Sportstar.

Bharat Arun‘s mixed response is unlikely to put the rumours to the bed but the team-management will definitely like to sort out the issues with the players. The current coaching staff with be out of contract at the end of the West Indies tour. Their contract had ended at the conclusion of the World Cup before the BCCI extended their stay by 45 days.
