Kevin Pietersen‘s love-hate relationship with his former England teammates is well documented. A career that was looking set to end as one of the best from England ended in an unceremonious manner.  Pietersen was part of England’s 2005 Ashes-winning side and helped them win the 2010 World T20 title.

His international career ended in 2014 when the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) sacked him because of trust issues. Prior to his sacking, Pietersen played 104 tests for England after making his debut against Australia at Lord’s in 2005. He scored 8,181 runs at an average of 47.28 and struck 23 centuries and 35 fifties.

Time and again Pietersen has opened up on his turbulent England career and he has spoken about it once again. In a fascinating five-part documentary series — KP: Story of a Genius by Sky Sports, Pietersen talked to former England skipper Nasser Hussain and gave an insight on the English dressing room.

Just like the old times, Pietersen did not refrain from speaking his mind out and made it clear that the England dressing room was anything but welcoming. In the sensational revelation, Pietersen said that the players were scared because of the abuse from the bowlers.

“I said to Jimmy Anderson once in a Test match, ‘the only thing I am really scared of is passing the ball back to you at mid-off. If it goes below your knee or drops on the floor you just give me that look, you just stare at me’. Should I have ever been in a position to say that to one of my bowlers?,” Kevin Pietersen said.

“Guys were crying in the dressing room because of the abuse they were taking from the bowlers. Should I hate playing for my country that much? Some guys didn’t want to get selected for England because of what (Stuart) Broad, Anderson, (Matt) Prior and (Graeme) Swann were like,” he added.
