Turning the clock back to a couple of years ago, the game of cricket has witnessed one of the worst stories with two superstars of the game Steve Smith and David Warner involving in a shameful incident. Now, once again, they travel to the same place for an international series, which is the first time after the incident. This time, it will be Aaron Finch in charge of the team.

In March 2018, during the third Test match against South Africa at Newlands in Cape Town, Cameron Bancroft was caught by television cameras trying to rough up one side of the ball with sandpaper to make it reverse.

Following the incident, Smith and Warner were handed a one-year suspension by Cricket Australia (CA) while Bancroft was banned for nine months.

South African fans are very vocal: Aaron Finch

Speaking of the same, the skipper of Australia, Finch stated that the fans of South Africa are so passionate about the sport and expects some banter from the crowd. He feels it is a blessing in disguise, as Warner loves banter, which gets him going in the middle.

”South African fans are very passionate, they are very vocal, he said. Our guys are expecting that. David especially loves that banter coming from the crowd and it gets him into the game. The guys are in a really good place,” Finch said to the reporters.

”We are playing some great cricket and in the right spirit. The boys know I want to keep that up. We have done it for 18 months now and there is absolutely no reason why that won’t continue (in South Africa),” Finch added.

Recently, Cricket South Africa’s (CSA) interim chief executive Jacques Faul said fans who misbehave would be ejected from venues during the limited-overs series. They have a very strict policy in place in terms of fan behaviour and will evacuate people if people misbehave.

The Twenty20 series against South Africa starts in Johannesburg, before moving to Port Elizabeth on Sunday and finally Cape Town on February 26th. The sides will then clash in three ODIs.
