Former India opener Gautam Gambhir is all praise for the way India responded to the dastardly terror attack in Pulwama.  The World Cup-winning, who is known for his bold nature, has never shied away from showing his support for the Indian security forces and has expectedly not remained silent since the attack took place. On February 14, a suicide bomber from the Pakistan-based terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) rammed an explosives-laden vehicle into a CRPF bus, killing at least 40 personnel and leaving many critically wounded.

Well, it took India less than two weeks to retaliate as they made Pakistan a hefty price for their mistake. On February 26, 12 Mirage 2000 jets from the Indian Air Force carried out a pre-dawn strike after taking off from Gwalior and crossing the Line of Control. The combat planes bombed terror camps at multiple locations across the Line of Control on the Pakistani side.

Government sources said the Mirage 2000 fighter jets pounded JeM terror camps in Balakot, Muzaffarabad and Chakoti in the well-planned strike, destroying the camps. According to sources, 200 to 300 terrorists were killed in the strike by Indian Air Force. The cross-border air attack destroyed terrorist launchpads and Jaish-e-Mohammed control rooms, sources said.

Pumped up with India’s strong and bold reply, Gautam Gambhir took to Twitter to express his delight, writing:

“We decided the time, we decided the place and we have decided the fate ???????? @IAF_MCC @adgpi #SurgicalStrikes2 #airstrikes”

The World Cup-winning star’s comment comes hours after Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan said his country would choose the time and place to respond to what he called “uncalled-for aggression” by India. Imran Khan was announcing decisions taken at a meeting of Pakistan’s National Security Committee soon after India said it had conducted a pre-emptive strike on the terrorist group that killed CRPF soldiers in the suicide bombing.

Meanwhile, the likes of Virender Sehwag, Suresh Raina, Sachin Tendulkar and several other big names from Indian cricket hailed the Indian Air Force for their courageous act.
