Punjab Announces 15-Member Squad For Syed Mushtaq Ali T20, Prabhsimran, Yuvraj Singh Included

The recent sensation Prabhsimran Singh once again takes the headlines by finding a place in the Punjab team for Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy 2019. The youngster’s career took a great boost when Kings XI Punjab bagged him for a heavy price check of INR 4.8 Crores, which made him one piece in the Rags To Riches Stories.

Prabhsimran Singh, an 18-year old wicket-keeper batsman from Patiala, stole the limelight as he was bought for 4.8 crores by Kings XI Punjab after an intense bidding war that involved several teams. For the first time, he is going to enter into the senior team for Punjab that got a lot of international stars.

Speaking of the inclusion, Prabhsimran quoted that the auction is of past and he wants to focus on the current opportunity. Further, he went on to add saying that he is excited to perform alongside the senior players in the team. Prabhsimran is pretty much ready for the challenge.

“The auction is the past. Right now, my focus is on performance. I’m keen to pouch any opportunity that comes my way. I’m approaching the tournament just as any other competition. I go in to do my best. It’s my first stint with the senior team. So, I am looking forward to the challenge,” he said to Times of India.

Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh finds a place:

Apart from the youngster, there are quite a few big names listed on the squad. The stylish southpaw Yuvraj Singh finds a place while the veteran off-spinner Harbhajan Singh will be leading the side in the tournament.

The young Shubman Gill also named in the squad while Anmolpreet Singh also received a call-up. In pace quadrant, the right-handed Sandeep Sharma will be paired up with Manpreet Singh Goni.

There are quite a few other senior players like Mandeep Singh, Manan Vohra, Gurkeerat Mann Singh and Barinder Sran in the side. The two major names to be missed out are Mayank Markande and Siddharth Kaul, who will be with Indian National Cricket Team.
