Team India U19 star Harsh Tyagi, whose heroics guided India in the U19 Asia Cup 2018, has revealed the importance of coach Rahul Dravid, shortly after his successful campaign.

Meanwhile, after missing the flight to Australia for the U19 World Cup, Tyagi has impressed one and sundry. He recently made Sri Lanka dance to his tunes with a spell of six for 38 in the Asia Cup final. Harsh Tyagi single-handedly skittled Sri Lanka for a mere 160 runs while chasing 305 thus winning the game by 144 runs.

Speaking to Timesnow.news.com, the young sensation laid the importance of Rahul Dravid in his life. He revealed that Dravid asked him to continue no matter what the outcome of the game is.

I learned a lot from Rahul Dravid Sir. He told me that whether you score a 100 or 0, just learn something from every match you play. This will improve your game. As a cricketer, it is very important for you to groom yourself,” Harsh Tyagi said

Playing for India is the main aim

Furthermore, the cricketer from Railways expressed that playing for India is the main aim. He also admitted the missing the World Cup did not disappoint him at all.

World Cup is not everything. Dravid Sir told us that World Cup is not everything. Give your best; the main thing is to do well for your Ranji Trophy team, do well for India A and play for India,” Harsh Tyagi continued

Speaking about the difference between senior and junior level, Tyagi stated that there is a massive difference between the two. He also noted that playing senior cricket is a learning curve for a youngster like him.

There’s a huge difference. In junior cricket, a batsman can give you his wicket due to the pressure on him but at the senior level, this doesn’t happen. They are all experienced, we get to learn a lot while playing senior cricket and it’s a good learning experience,” Tyagi concluded
