Rahul Dravid To Appear Before BCCI's Ethics Officer Over Conflict Of Interest Allegations

Former India skipper Rahul Dravid will appear before the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) Ethics Officer DK Jain to explain the conflict of interest allegations against him. Recently, Justice (Retd) DK Jain served a conflict of interest notice to former India skipper and National Cricket Academy Director Rahul Dravid.

A life-member of Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association, Sanjeev Gupta filed a complaint to DK Jain highlighting a conflict of interest issue against Dravid. This complaint led Jain to send a legal notice to the Director of NCA, Rahul Dravid.

According to Gupta’s complaint, Dravid is allegedly conflicted as he is the NCA Director and also employed as vice-president of India Cements group.  Notably, India Cements owns IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings.

Rahul Dravid, meanwhile, has explained his stance saying he is one leave of absence from employers India Cements. Besides, he has nothing to do with the Chennai Super Kings. Similarly, DK Jain has also asked BCCI employee Mayank Parikh to depose before him on Thursday.

As per BCCI Constitution, one person cannot hold two positions at the same time. Dravid’s hearing will be in the morning followed by Parikh. BCCI Ethics office will deliver his judgement after the hearing on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Rahul Dravid who heads the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru recently visited Team India ahead of the third T20I against South Africa. He had a chat with head coach Ravi Shastri and the players. The Men in Blues went down in the match to end the series 1-1.
