Rahul Dravid To Supervise Training Of Under-16 Cricketers Of 16 Commonwealth Countries

There comes the pleasant news for the under-16 boys and girls of all the 16 commonwealth teams, as India started their preparation to train them for a period of one month. As India’s honourable prime minister Narendra Modi promised, India are doing their job for the candidates of those countries. For which, Rahul Dravid will be taking responsibility.

At the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in London on April 19, 2018, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that India will organise training for boys and girls under the age of 16, giving them an opportunity to train with some of the best cricketers in India at the NCA.

They are currently hosting participants (18 boys & 17 girls) from Botswana, Cameroon, Kenya, Mozambique, Mauritius, Namibia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Uganda, Zambia, Malaysia, Singapore, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, Fiji and Tanzania.

Customised program has been made –

All the youngsters will be trained under the best coaches available in India while Rahul Dravid will be the chief monitor, as he is the head of the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore.

“A customised training program has been made for each participant. The challenge has been to assess each of these Under 16 aged cricketers coming from varied backgrounds and countries, establishing their level of cricketing competence, designing appropriate programs and then delivering them,” a BCCI said in a release.

“Language and cultural barriers have been overcome, with the passion for cricket which all of the trainees have in ample measure.”

All the players were given Hotel accommodations, food and the regular allowances to reach their goals without any further tensions. They were also given a nutrition diet, strength and conditioning facilities alongside cricket kits.

Well, it would be interesting to how things would turn out. For now, Narendra Modi has fulfilled the promise he made during the mega event, which certainly helps India to have smooth relations with fellow countries.
