Rajasthan Royals look pretty much interested in securing the services of Sunrisers Hyderabad star David Warner. Well, any team would consider itself lucky to have the Australian by its side. David Warner is one of the most decorated batsmen in the history of the IPL and his track record as captain is equally impressive.
David Warner joined Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2014 and completely changed the fortunes of the team. In 2016, he scored more than 800 runs and helped the Sunrisers win their first ever title. In this year’s IPL, he was the top run-scorer although he was not the captain of the side. No surprises then that the Royals showed interest in him.
It all happened when Royals and Sunrisers got involved in a funny exchange on Twitter. Royals started the exchange by re-tweeting the photo of Steve Smith and Aaron Finch with the caption:
“.@stevesmith49: Tell Dave, I need to bat today! ?”

Royals had posted the tweet before the second T20I between Australia and Sri Lanka. They were referring to the first T20I through their tweet when David Warner scored an unbeaten century and Smith could not bat.
Sunrisers, nonetheless, then responded by writing:
“What better than both of them batting together ?”

This is when Royals hilariously asked the Sunrisers whether they are releasing their star man.

Smith, meanwhile, plies his trade for the Royals in the IPL. The Australia star also leads the franchise but is yet to guide the team to glory. The closest Smith came to winning the title was in 2017 when he led Rising Pune Supergiant to the final. Just like Warner, he too missed last year’s IPL due to ball-tampering scandal.
Both the teams, nonetheless, will have a new head coaches. Sunrisers have parted ways with Tom Moody and roped in England’s World Cup-winning coach, Trevor Bayliss. On the other hand, Rajasthan Royals replaced Paddy Upton with Andrew McDonald.
