Rookie batsman, Armaan Jaffer recently slammed a triple hundred for Mumbai U-23 against Saurashtra. However, he was brought back into the Mumbai squad for the Ranji Trophy 2018/19 fixture against Gujrat, scheduled for November 28th at the Wankhede Stadium. Also, in the absence of Prithvi Shaw, Ajinkya Rahane and Rohit Sharma, Armaan would have a good chance to impress the selectors.

Meanwhile, after a meeting on Monday, the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) selection committee named Jaffer into the side. Moreover, Aarman Jaffer had earlier played three first-class matches and is also a nephew of former Indian player, Wasim Jaffer.

Recently, the 20-year-old had slammed an unbeaten triple century for Mumbai n the U-23 CK Nayudu Trophy. Armaan had scored 300 runs off 367 deliveries with the help of 26 boundaries and ten sixes. However, during Ranji Trophy 2018/19, Dhawal Kulkarni will lead the side. The focus will be on how batters – Siddhesh Lad, Jay Bista, Suryakumar Yadav and Aditya Tare fare.

Furthermore, Tushar Deshpande who had a good outing with the ball will be hoping to do something big at home. However, Armaan Jaffer does not have to overthink about his selection. Although the young lad only managed to score 44 runs after making it to the Ranji Trophy side for his team in 2016, this time he will want to provide some better show.

Also, after sustaining an injury, the right-handed batsman made a good comeback at the CK Nayudu Trophy, and now, he would want to keep the momentum going. Meanwhile, Mumbai had so far played two games this season, and both the matches ended in a draw.
