Five Batsmen Who Have Scored More Than One Triple Century In Ranji Trophy

Ranji Trophy, a place where cricketers are manufactured in India. For any batsman in Test cricket, scoring a century is considered a very special achievement.

In Test cricket, there is a tremendous test of the patience of batsmen and there are some batsmen who convert centuries to double centuries and double centuries to triple centuries. A triple century is an incredible fear for any batsman.

Talking about international cricket, there are very few batsmen who have reached triple century figures.

The list includes two batsmen from India who managed to score a triple century. While Virender Sehwag touched the triple century figure twice, Karun Nair became the second Indian triple century holder.

Sehwag’s achievement is very special in itself because he has scored more than one triple century.

Taruwar Kohli

India played the Under-19 Cricket World Cup in 2008 under the captaincy of Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli. In that World Cup, another Kohli was a part of Virat’s team, whose full name was Taruvar Kohli.

Although the Punjab batsman never got a chance in international cricket, he has a big achievement in domestic cricket.

Taruwar Kohli has scored two triple centuries in Ranji Trophy, India’s biggest domestic tournament, which only a few batsmen have been able to do.

The special thing in both the triple centuries of Taruvar is that he scored the first triple century against Jharkhand in 2012-13 while playing for Punjab and the second time he played against Arunachal Pradesh for Mizoram’s team in the same season.

He played a game-defining inning of 307 runs.

VVS Laxman is a very big name international cricket. He has produced some very special performances throughout his career. Laxman’s name can still be considered among the best batsmen in Test cricket history.

Laxman could not score a single triple century in international cricket but he has achieved this feat twice in his domestic career. Laxman scored 301 runs against Bihar in 1998 while playing for home team Hyderabad in Ranji Trophy, while in the year 2000 he made history by scoring 353 runs against Karnataka.

Wasim Jaffer

Mumbai’s Wasim Jaffer is considered the best batsman in Indian domestic cricket. Wasim Jaffer’s domestic cricket has earned him a legendary status that makes him a special batsman. Wasim Jaffer made a triple century in domestic cricket at the age of 18 only. He was the youngest batsman to score a triple century in India’s domestic cricket.

He made his first triple century against Saurashtra in the year 1996-97. After that, Wasim Jaffer did not look back in his entire domestic cricket career and set records one after the other. Jafar credited a lot of records to his name. He scored another triple century after 13 years i.e. in 2009-10 against Tamil Nadu in his own home ground in the Ranji Trophy.

Cheteshwar Pujara

Cheteshwar Pujara is one of the most trusted batsmen in the current Test team of Indian cricket. Cheteshwar Pujara’s most special ability is his strength to bat for long hours. He has done very well for India in his international career so far.

Pujara has managed to score a triple century twice while playing for Ranji Cricket Saurashtra. For the first time, he scored a triple century against Orissa in 2008-09, after which he scored 352 runs against Karnataka in the year 2012-13.

Ravindra Jadeja

Indian cricket has witnessed some great batsmen over the years in Test cricket. This includes Sachin Tendulkar, Sunil Gavaskar and Dilip Vengsarkar. Later Rahul Dravid also emerged as a great Test batsman. But no one has been able to achieve what Ravindra Jadeja has managed.

Ravindra Jadeja has scored a triple century not once but three times in Ranji cricket. He is the only batsman to score a triple century thrice in Indian domestic cricket. Jadeja scored 314 runs for the first time against Odisha in 2011-12.

For the second time, he scored another triple century against Gujarat in 2012-13. After that, he created history against Railways by scoring a triple century.
