NCA chairman Niranjan Shah has slammed CoA over their recent actions.

National Cricket Academy Chairman Niranjan Shah on Tuesday stated that the match fees of the Ranji cricketers were still pending for the year 2016-17. As per reports in the media circles, it is being learnt that the Ranji players haven’t been paid the dues for the last two seasons on a trot.

Ranji players generally get Rs 10,000 per day after their match and are also paid 10 percent in an arrangement with BCCI,” Niranjan Shah was quoted by the ANI as saying.

“As per my knowledge, the share for 2015-2016 has been cleared, however, balance of 2016-17 is pending due to court proceeding,” he further added. The reason behind the payment being delayed is learnt to be the deadlock between the Committee of Administrators chief Vinod Rai and the state units overs the Lodha Committee implementations. Meanwhile, one other reason behind the delay is being said to be the new payment structure that the CoA is currently working on.

Shah has been battling for the Ranji players

Meanwhile, Shah was battling for the Ranji players. He said that the dues should be cleared pretty soon as Ranji Trophy serves as the breeding ground for young budding cricketers.

“I think there should not be any further delay to this and players should be granted their share. The CoA should take personal interest in the matter and clear the payments as Ranji players are no that stable and need timely allowances,” he said.

“From last two-three years, all the attention has been diverted to the test players. But we need to pay due attention to the first class players as well as they are the feeding ground,” he further added.
