Ranveer Singh Reveals Tahir Raj Bhasin's Look As Sunil Gavaskar In '83'

The upcoming film ’83’ promises to be one of the famous movies. The film is based on the Indian Cricket team capturing their first World Cup in the year 1983 under the captaincy of Kapil Dev. Iconic and popular actor Ranveer Singh is set to play the role of Kapil Dev in a movie that is scheduled to hit the theatres on 10th April 2020 in India. Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh has also revealed the first look of Tahir Raj Bhasin, who would be enacting the role of the Little Master and opening batsman Sunil Gavaskar in the movie.

The Padmaavat actor took to Twitter, unveiling a poster in which Tahir is shown swinging a bat precisely in Gavaskar’s style. Earlier in the week, Ranveer wished the legendary all-rounder and the World Cup-winning captain Kapil Dev an auspicious birthday by sharing some photos back in his training days. In a picture, both can be seen having a chat and sharing a happy moment on the film’s sets.

Kapil was dressed in casuals while Ranveer donned the costumes that he would be wearing in the movie. In another picture, Kapil was witnessed playing a shot to which Ranveer paid keen attention. And in yet another flick, director Kabir Khan was also shown. Further, the actor who made his debut in 2010, shared a picture of him playing Kapil Dev’s signature shot “the Natraj Shot”.

Along with Ranveer, the forthcoming movie features plenty of iconic stars. Deepika Padukone will play the lead role opposite Ranveer, who are also a couple in real life. The likes of R Badree, Hardy Sandhu, Chirag Patil, Saqib Saleem, Pankaj Tripathi, Tahir Bhasin, Ammy Virk, and Sahil Khattar would make their presence felt as part of the team of men in blue.

The 1983 World Cup victory is one of the unforgettable moments for Indian cricket. They faced the favourites West Indies in the final, who were two-time champions. Kapil Dev’s men stunned the men from the Carribean by bowling them out for 140 in reply to 183 made by India.
