Team India head coach Ravi Shastri has dropped a big hint that not all is well between him and BCCI president Sourav Ganguly with his tweet following the conclusion of IPL 2020 on Tuesday.

The thirteenth edition of the tournament came to an end with the final between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals. Playing their sixth final, Mumbai Indians thrashed first-time finalists Delhi Capitals by five wickets to win their fifth IPL title. They also became just the second team after Chennai Super Kings to retain the IPL title.

Batting first, Delhi Capitals scored 156 for 7 in the allotted 20 overs. They were off to a disastrous start and were reeling at 22 for 3 at one stage before being rescued by Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant. Iyer top-scored for Delhi, scoring an unbeaten 65 while Pant scored 56.

In reply, Mumbai Indians chased down the total in the 19th over. Rohit led from the front and scored a fine 68 before being dismissed in the 17th over. Ishan Kishan also played a fine came of 33 not out.

Ravi Shastri’s tweet raises eyebrows:

While enjoying yet another exhilarating season of the IPL, the cricketing fraternity was quick to laud BCCI for successfully conducting the tournament in the UAE in these tough times. Ravi Shastri also made sure to do the same but surprisingly snubbed BCCI president Sourav Ganguly in his tweet.

The India coach praised BCCI secretary Jay Shah, IPL chairman Brijesh Patel, BCCI’s interim CEO Hemang Amin as well as the medical staff but didn’t mention Sourav Ganguly as he tweeted:

“Take a BOW @JayShah, Brijesh Patel, @hemangamin and the medical staff of the @BCCI for pulling off the impossible and making it a Dream @IPL

Ravi Shastri and Ganguly’s rocky relation is not a secret anymore. They were involved in a war of words of 2016 when the Cricket Advisory Committee had appointed Anil Kumble as the head coach. Ganguly was a part of the committee along with his former teammates VVS Laxman and Sachin Tendulkar.

Following the appointment, Shastri had accused Ganguly of being absent during his interview. Since then, the two have taken shots at each other on several occasions. Ganguly had skipped the meeting because it took place through video conferencing as Shastri was in Bangkok.

Later, Shastri had slammed Ganguly after being overlooked. Ganguly had then hit back at Shastri, saying that he was living in a fool’s paradise if he thought only one member decided his fate.
