Ravi Shastri Reveals Reason Behind Continous Chances To KL Rahul

Perhaps, there is no other cricketer in Indian cricket, who got more chances than KL Rahul got in his International Career. The flamboyant batsman was given a lot of opportunities across the formats to prove his mettle but unfortunately, failed to deliver. Despite the failures, he was still given ample chances to make it count. Meanwhile, Ravi Shastri reveals the reason.

Spilling out the beans, Ravi Shastri quoted that they have backed the youngster because they knew that a good score from KL Rahul is around the corner. Further, he added that the problem with KL Rahul is all about getting the start to his knocks.

And also, he went on to laud the Karnataka batsman for the talent he has got in his kitty. He believes that Rahul can be a dangerous batsman when he gets his start. But, unfortunately, he is failing to figure out the flaw in order to come good.

”Yes, we have backed him. But I know he is not far away (from a good score). The problem is at the beginning of his innings – he needs a start. If he gets to 15-20 runs he is as good a player as any in the world when he starts stroking. But the problem is that (getting the start) and it is something that he has to address,” Ravi Shastri quoted.

KL Rahul will be back:

Shastri believes that KL Rahul will get better once he gets knocks under his belt while playing for India A. He is sure that KL Rahul will make an astounding return to the International cricket, as he got immense talent in his bag to deliver for the Indian National Cricket Team.

”I think he has to go back to playing India A and it is a question of him spending time at the crease and getting runs. But I am sure he will be back because the talent is there. It is too big a talent there to be wasted,” Ravi Shastri added to his lines.

Well, it would be interesting to see how things would pan out for KL Rahul in his international career. So far, he hasn’t done anything good enough for India A as well. He has been named in the 4-day game against England Lions, which is to be played in a couple of days time.
