The dust on India’s impressive win over West Indies in the second Test has settled now. Team India thrashed the Caribbean outfit by 257 runs to sweep the two-match series. India wrapped up the second Test in Jamaica inside four days to end the tour on a great note. The Virat Kohli-led side did not lose a single game across formats on the tour.

Starting the day on 45 for 2 while chasing an improbable 467, West Indies were all out for just 210. Shamarh Brooks scored a fighting fifty but his other teammates failed to get going in yet another poor batting display. The hosts did start the day on a positive note and added 52 runs before losing their first wicket when Roston Chase was dismissed. One run later, they lost Shimron Hetmyer too to find themselves reeling at 98 for 4 from 97 for 2.

Jermaine Blackwood and Brooks stopped the rot for a while but they could only the delay the inevitable for a while. Once Jasprit Bumrah broke the stand by dismissing Blackwood, West Indies’ remaining batsmen fell like a pack of cards.

And while most of the players were quick to praise the team for the fine performance, Ajinkya Rahane was pretty late in doing the same. Rahane took to Twitter to express his delight over his contribution in the win, writing:

“Nothing better than contributing to team’s win. Delighted to win the series ✌?”

And as soon as Rahane posted the tweet, his teammate Ravichandran Ashwin was quick to pull his legs. The off-spinner hilariously trolled Rahane for the late message, writing:

“Are you up jinx?? Coffee???”

India, meanwhile, will next take on South Africa in their next assignment. They will host the Proteas for three T20Is and as many Tests.
