Ravichandran Ashwin Reminices a Lifetime Memory

India’s experienced spinner Ravichandran Ashwin recalled a lifetime memory on his Instagram story. The off-spinner shared a video in which he caught and bowled Nathan Lyon. Ashwin had scalped a six-wicket haul in the second Test match against Australia at Bangalore in 2017. India was 1-0 down after losing the first Test match at Pune and it was imperative for India to make a strong comeback in the four-match Test series.

Ashwin took 6-41 in the second innings to skittle out the visitors for a score of 112 runs. The off-spinner also took two wickets in the first innings. Consequently, Ashwin was instrumental in getting India to level the series as the hosts won by 75 runs.

Ashwin will need to come up with a strong performance.

Meanwhile, KL Rahul was awarded the Man of the match in that match. The Indian opener had scored a good knock of 90 runs in the first innings to help his team get to 189. Furthermore, the flamboyant batsman scored another fine inning of 51 runs in the second dig.

On the other hand, Ravichandran Ashwin is currently out of favour in the Indian limited overs side. In fact, Ashwin Test career is also in jeopardy as Ravi Shastri recently said that Kuldeep Yadav is going to be their first choice spinner in the overseas conditions.

Ashwin played a solitary Test match on tour Down Under.

Ashwin had played a first Test match against Australia at Adelaide. The off-spinner had scalped seven wickets in the match as he played a key role in India’s win. Ashwin took four wickets in the first innings whereas he scalped three wickets in the second essay.

However, Ashwin was not part of the remaining three Test matches against Australia. Hence, Ashwin will like to come up with special performances in the coming matches to get back into the team on regular basis. Ashwin has taken 342 wickets in 65 Test matches in his illustrious career.
