The former batting coach of the Indian National Cricket Team Sanjay Bangar feels that Ravindra Jadeja is a better option for the Virat Kohli-led side rather than Krunal Pandya in the shorter form of the game. Notably, Jadeja recently replaced Pandya in the T20I team for the upcoming series against West Indies which gets underway on December 06.

The stylish southpaw Krunal Pandya has been an asset to the Mumbai Indians in the IPL as he plays as a floater in the batting order and bats wherever the team needs him to bat. His big-hitting ability adds another dimension to his game along with the left-arm off-spin that he provides.

Surprisingly, he has not displayed the same form for the Indian T20 side as many times he has failed to complete his four overs. Besides, he has not been able to show his calibre with the bat. Speaking of the same, Sanjay Bangar believes Ravindra Jadeja is a perfect option for the team going by the current form.

Ravindra Jadeja is in the form of his life and delivering goods in all sections of the game. He proved his batting capability in ICC Word Cup 2019 semifinal and also impressed with his show in Test Cricket. Going by the current form, Sanjay Bangar feels Jadeja perfectly suits the Indian lineup. He can deliver those four overs and bats as per the need of the team.

”You require a wrist spinner in the T20 format, it has been a very major component in India’s success wherein 2 wrist spinners played a massive role in most of the one day’s and T20 series the team has had across conditions hence you will need a bowler who is capable of bowling the complete 4 overs and also bat at No.7,” said the former batting coach, as quoted by PTI.

“Hence, I feel Ravinder Jadeja edges over Krunal Pandya here as Krunal hasn’t been able to deliver the complete four overs at times and Jadeja has been in great form recently,” he added.

Krunal Pandya, who made his T20I debut for India in November last year, has played 18 T20Is for the Men in Blue but has failed to cement his spot in the side. On the other hand, Jadeja has been a regular in India’s Test and ODI side post the conclusion of World Cup 2019. So far, Jadeja featured in 44 T20I games for India.
