Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore Sold To Chennai Super Kings For INR 20 Lakhs

Chennai Super Kings are the only team to have signed minimum players at the IPL auction 2020 so far. Ahead of the mega event, they had remaining purse money of INR 14.6 crores. England all-rounder Sam Curran who set his base price at INR 1 crore was roped in by CSK franchise for INR 5.5 crores. After that, they spent money to sign three bowlers- left-arm spinner, leg-spinner and a fast bowler.

The former Kolkata Knight Riders’ player Piyush Chawla who set his base price at INR 1 crore was sold to CSK for INR 6.75 crores. Australia’s fast bowler Josh Hazlewood who set his base price at INR 2 crores was drafted in by the yellow army for the same amount. R Sai Kishore has performed really well at Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) as he ended up as the leading wicket-taker. He set his base price at INR 20 lakhs and CSK drafted him for that price. Tamil Nadu spinner made his List A debut for his state in the 2016–17 Vijay Hazare Trophy on 12 March 2017 and after a good spell, he went on to make his first-class debut for Tamil Nadu in the 2017–18 Ranji Trophy on 14 October 2017.

The 23-year-old bowler then made his Twenty20 debut for Tamil Nadu in the 2017–18 Zonal T20 League on 8 January 2018. He impressed everyone with his subtle bowling variations of good line and length. He hogged the limelight when he became the leading wicket-taker for Tamil Nadu in the 2018–19 Ranji Trophy with as many as 22 dismissals in 6 matches. Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore boasts a pretty good record in the shorter format of the game. He has played 22 games and has picked 25 wickets with a best bowling figures of 4/6.

Earlier this year, R Sai Kishore was a net bowler for CSK and the productive stint helped him evolve as a better cricketer. The left-arm spinner has been chipping in with best performances in the domestic circuit. In the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy tournament, he picked twelve wickets in six games at an impressive economy rate of 3.86, which is, in fact, the best among bowlers who have bowled at least 10 overs.

He is also one of the main reasons why Tamil Nadu booked their berth in the Super League stage. Ever since making his debut in the year 2017, he helped Tamil Nadu win the Vijay Hazare Trophy and Deodhar Trophy.
