Whenever Jaydev Unadkat makes the headlines, the first and foremost thing that comes to the mind of the fans is his IPL price tag. The flamboyant cricketer caused a serious bidding war in the auction ahead of the 2018 IPL when Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals went neck-to-neck for him. Though Rajasthan won the bidding war, the fast bowler lets them down with his performances on the field.

The left-handed fast bowler was one of the main reasons for Rising Pune Supergiant to enter the final in IPL 2017, but all his brilliance was restricted to only one season, as he fared pretty poorly in the next couple of seasons. However, Jaydev Unadkat made a solid start to the domestic season with a 9-wicket haul in the match against Himachal Pradesh in the first round of the Ranji Trophy.

Jaydev Unadkat adjudged as man of the match:

After being released by Rajasthan Royals for the upcoming season, the flamboyant cricketer showed his class by knocking out Himachal Pradesh with his stunning performance. After picking three wickets in the first innings, Jaydev Unadkat wreaked havoc with a 6-wicket haul in the second innings.

The performance fetched him a man of the match award and also helped his side to roll out the game in two and a half days. Apart from Jaydev Unadkat, Vaibhav Arora of Himachal Pradesh also walked back with 9 wickets to his name, but unfortunately, it came in the losing cause.

Well, this is a timely reminder by the young-fast bowler to the franchise owners ahead of the IPL 2020 Auction. In 2018, he was picked by Rajasthan Royals at a whopping INR 11.5 crore, making the costliest Indian fast bowler ever to get sold in the auctions. But, he managed to pick only 11 wickets at an economy rate of 9.47. He was not even among the top-25 in the leading wicket-takers list.

He was released and once again bought by Rajasthan Royals in 2019 auction. Unfortunately, he put on a similar show with ten wickets in 11 innings. Despite the poor show, he is once again expected to go for a huge price in the upcoming IPL 2020 auction, as he can turn the tables for the team.
