The overnight batsman Akshay Karnewar and Akshay Wadkar have knocked brilliantly to put Vidarbha on top of the game. Akshay Karnewar knocks century:
The morning session completely went in the home side, as Akshay Karnewar and Akshay Wadkar started things brilliantly for the team. However, after adding 23 runs, Wadkar walked back when Rahul Chahar disturbed the stumps.
Despite Wadkar losing his wickets, Karnewar batted with grit and determination to make things fall in place. He numbered 13 fours and 2 sixes to push the team over 400 runs on the board. He got a decent contribution from the lower-order batsman as well.
Rajneesh Gurbani and Akshay Wakhare knocked 28 and 20 runs respectively to their names to help Karnewar finish his century. Rahul Chahar finished with a 4-wicket haul to finish the first innings on 425 runs on the board.
For Rest Of India, apart from Rahul’s 4-wicket-haul, Ankit Rajpoot, D Jadeja and Krishnappa Gowtham picked up 2 wickets each. Akshay Wadkar scored 73 runs to his name.
Hanuma Vihari-Ajinkya Rahane balance the ship:
In reply, Anmolpreet Singh once again failed to knock runs for the team. He was dismissed for 6 runs while Mayank Agarwal scored 27 runs to his name. However, Hanuma Vihari and Ajinkya Rahane balanced the ship with fine knocks.
Following the scintillating century, Hanuma Vihari carried his fine form by knocking an unbeaten 40 runs at the end of Day 3 play. The skipper Ajinkya Rahane is with Vihari on 25*. At the end of Day 3 play, Rest Of India is leading the game with 7 runs.
