Rishabh Pant Can Fill MS Dhoni Shoes - Former Wicketkeeper Vijay Dahiya

Out of all the concerns, the successor for MS Dhoni is one of the major concern for Team India. Currently, the best wicketkeeper that India has in their ranks is MS Dhoni. They haven’t found any other player, who can match his skills at the moment. However, as far as the race is concerned, perhaps, Rishabh Pant is in the first place. Meanwhile, the former wicket-keeper Vijay Dahiya also feels the same.

After the retirement by MS Dhoni in the Test circuit, India found it really tough to replace him. After a fine time, they got Saha, who was survived on the thin ice. However, the emergence of Rishabh Pant helped team management to sort it out in Test format.

The former wicketkeeper showered heaps of praise on Rishabh Pant for his positive approach. He feels that Rishabh has utilised his chance in the red-ball format more than any other player to take the wicketkeeping role.

Further, he went on to say that MS Dhoni is a legend of the game and added that it is tough to fill his shoes. However, he showed his optimistic side on Rishabh Pant growing better with every game.

”The way the Indian team is playing right now, they are looking for a wicket-keeper who is an all-rounder. Parthiv Patel has given his bit, Dinesh Karthik has been given chances many times, but the way Rishabh Pant has grabbed the opportunities in Tests, it stands out,” Dahiya told Timesofindia.com in an exclusive interview.

”Pant’s inclusion with Dhoni is a signal that Indian cricket is looking forward. It is difficult to fill Dhoni’s shoes but the way Pant is performing, he will in time. Dhoni is a legend of the game. He has changed the face of Indian cricket,” Vijay Dahiya said.

However, it seems like Vijay Dahiya is pretty convinced with Rishabh Pant’s positive game. Hopefully, he would make the transition better for Team India although there is no denying the fact that MS Dhoni’s service is hard to be replaced.
