Looks like Rishabh Pant has arrived just in time and is raring to go in his favourite format – T20s. It was young side led by Shreyas Iyer, which included the likes of Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer, which helped Delhi Capitals qualify for the IPL playoffs after a drought of seven years.

And now Pant has already resumed his practice for IPL 2020. Practicing at YUG Sports Complex, he seemed to be striking the deliveries pretty hard. Among all the shots he had to offer, the Delhi batsman also pulled off a MS Dhoni-esque helicopter shot which was well documented in the video.

Pant was touted to fill in the big boots of MS Dhoni across format. But as he failed to capitalise on the chances he was given with his poor shot selection and questionable glovework, it opened the doors for KL Rahul. Pant was also severely scrutinized by the media and cricket fraternity.

Pant, however, continues to be backed by senior India members like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. They think the Delhi batsman has come under sever scrutiny very early in his career and should be given some breathing space.

Pant made his national team debut in 2017, courtesy of his power-hitting skills in the shortest format of the game. He has played 28 T20Is for India, so far, and averages 20.50. In the ODIs, he has scored 361 runs, at an average of 26.71.

In the first-class, Pant averages 48, however he has not been able to carry on the same for the national team.
