We,, it seems like the young Rishabh Pant has decided to break every possible record of Mahendra Singh Dhoni in Test format of the game. The latest record comes in wicket-keeping duty for Rishabh Pant. He leapfrogged MS Dhoni to become the fastest Indian Wicket-Keeper to be part of 50-wicket dismissals.

Rishabh Pant achieved the feat in 11 Tests:

Pant during West Indies’s second innings of the second Test became the fastest Indian keeper to take 50 catches in Test cricket. The Delhi wicketkeeper-batsman took just 11 Tests to reach the milestone while Dhoni reached there in 15 Test matches.

Pant achieved the feat when he caught Kraigg Brathwaite’s catch from an Ishant Sharma delivery. Brathwaite looked to play a drive outside off and nicked it behind Pant, who completed an easy catch. Brathwaite’s wicket was the first of the two to fall as Windies finished day three on 45/2 and still need 423 runs to level the two-match series 1-1.

Despite having a good time with the wicketkeeper-gloves behind the stumps, it isn’t the same scenario in front of the stumps, as he couldn’t quite capitalise his starts.

The day two action of the second test match between India and West Indies has resumed on Saturday at the Sabina Park, Jamaica and Rishabh Pant began his day in a way he simply didn’t hope for. Jason Holder shattered Pant’s stumps off the first ball of the day as the wicket-keeper batsman left the ground adding zero runs to his 27 from yesterday as India stood on 264/6 after 90.1 overs.

Pant has been in poor form for the Indian side ever since he was drafted in as the future replacement of former Indian skipper MS Dhoni for the years ahead. But the left-hander’s bad form with the bat is continuing on a regular basis.

In second Innings, Indian top-order failed to deliver as they lost 4 quick wickets in the second innings. However, Ajinkya Rahane and Hanuma Vihari continued their glorious form in the series to help India set a massive target on the board for West Indies.
