There is little denying that Rohit Sharma and Ritika Sajdeh are one of the most-talked about couples in the country. With his stunning exploits on the cricket field, Rohit is a fan-favourite in this cricket-obsessed nation and his wife is equally popular among the fans.

Their love-story is nothing less than a typical romantic movie. They had first met as professionals. Before getting hitched, Rohit and Ritika knew each other for six year after meeting as professionals. Ritika is a sports event manager and used to take care of Rohit’s cricket engagements as his manager. However, they soon developed a strong friendship which later turned into lovers.

After dating each other for six years, Rohit surprised his ladylove with an emotional proposal. He had gone down on his knees, with a solitaire ring in his hand, and popped the question to her at the Borivali Sports Club, Mumbai. It is the same ground where he started his career at the age of 11. Ritika immediately accepted the proposal. The two got engaged in June 2015 before getting married in December.

Earlier this month, they celebrated their third marriage anniversary.

And on Sunday, they became proud parents of a baby girl. The couple welcomed their first child just before the new year. Seema Khan, Ritika’s cousin and the wife of Bollywood actor Sohail Khan, confirmed the news by congratulating Ritika on her Instagram story. Seema expressed her delight over becoming a Masi and posted the following picture:

Rohit, meanwhile, missed the special occasion due to his cricketing commitments. He is currently in Australia for the ongoing Test series. There were reports suggesting that Rohit might miss the just-concluded third Test to attend his child’s birth but he decided against it and played a crucial role in India’s triumph at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
