Rohit Sharma has finally changed his ODI numbers against New Zealand. He has always got poor record against Kiwis but in the current series, he got a couple of back-to-back fifties, in which, one knock fetched him the man of the match award as well. Meanwhile, he equalled MS Dhoni’s tally of 215 sixes for India.

In total, Mahendra Singh Dhoni scored 222 sixes but seven of those came against Asia XI. So his 215 for Indian National Cricket Team has been tallied with Rohit Sharma’s 215 sixes. Now, they both share the first place for hitting the most number of sixes for India.

Out of his 215 sixes, 100 off them was clobbered in India. HIghest Number of his sixes came against Australia, who numbered 66. His second best came against Sri Lanka by numbering 39 sixes.

Apart from equalling Mahendra Singh Dhoni record, Rohit Sharma crossed another landmark – he is now the 10th Indian to go past 10,000 List A runs. He is the fourth fastest to the feat after Virat Kohli, Sourav Ganguly and Sachin Tendulkar.

Well, Rohit Sharma has become one of the strong pillars for India in the limited overs format of the game. He is one of the consistent run-scorer for India in the limited overs format. And also, he is on verge of breaking quite a few records to his name in upcoming few games.

After the man of the match performance, Rohit was the star with the bat for India as he slammed 62 runs off 77 deliveries to notch up his 38th ODI fifty in emphatic fashion. His innings was laced with three fours and two sixes. Rohit combined with Shikhar Dhawan (28) to get India off to a decent start posting a 39-run stand for the 1st wicket and later added a century partnership with Virat Kohli.

Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma was asked to lead the side in absence of Virat Kohli for a remaining couple of ODI games in the series. It will be followed by 3-match T20I series, where he will continue his captaincy responsibility.
