It hasn’t been a great day at the office for the Indian National Cricket Team skipper Rohit Sharma with the bat but still, he managed to seal a couple of records to his name that will put him on top of the list. And guess what, he overtook the legends of the modern cricket MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli to become leading cricketer in a couple of charts.

Rohit Sharma scored 2 runs more than Virat Kohli:

In doing so, Sharma extended his total T20I runs to 2,452, and now he is 2 runs past Kohli, who has 2,450 runs in the format, so far. Martin Guptill (2,326), Shoaib Malik (2,263) and Brendon McCullum (2,140) are at third, fourth and fifth place in the list.

Though Rohit managed to move past Kohli, he would be gutted to miss out on a big score on a good surface in the national capital. Nonetheless, he can still make the most of the opportunities in the remaining two matches and consolidate his lead over Kohli.

Rohit Sharma also accomplished another massive achievement when he took the field against Bangladesh on Sunday. He surpassed former India captain MS Dhoni to become the most capped Indian player in the shortest format.

Speaking on the eve of the match on Saturday, Rohit told reporters: “My job as a captain is very simple — I just want to take the team forward from where Virat has left the team. What I have done at the limited opportunities that I have got is to maintain what Virat has done previously with the team. I am just trying to carry that forward.”

Despite missing out in Delhi, Rohit Sharma will have a couple of more games to Play Bangladesh in this series. Later, India will take on their sub-continent neighbours in a two-match Test series. In December, the side will host West Indies for a three-match T20I and ODI series.

I just love what I script. Over the years, Cricket has been my passion and crisping articles on it gives me an immense pleasure...Cheers...!!!
