Not only in India, but Rohit Sharma also got admirers in Pakistan. The latest cricketer to express his desire to bat like the Indian opening batsman is the Under-19 opening batsman of Pakistan, Haider Ali. He treats Rohit as his role model and wants to score a double century like him in limited-overs cricket.

Ali, who is currently with the team in the ICC U19 World Cup 2020, stated that he wants to emulate Rohit Sharma as an opener. He would like to play bravely like Rohit, who value his shots in the limited-overs format.

The promising batsman Ali wants to score as many runs as possible for his side to put them in a strong position.

I want to emulate Rohit Sharma – Haider Ali

Ali has not been able to make a mark in the ongoing U-19 World Cup so far with scores of 19 and four. He will be eager to turn the tides when Pakistan meet Afghanistan in the Super League Quarter-final 4 clash on Friday (January 31) at Willowmoore Park in Benoni.

“My role model is Rohit Sharma, I want to be a batsman like him. He bats so bravely and confidently, I want to emulate his style of batting. Of course, scoring a double century in one day cricket is my dream. My aim is to score as big as possible. As an opener, I try to score big so that team can get a solid start,” Haider Ali told Geo.tv.

Pakistan qualified for the Super League quarter-finals as the second team from Group C after Bangladesh and will play Afghanistan in the last-eight clash in Benoni on Friday.
