India’s limited over deputy Rohit Sharma has been rested from India A four-day match against New Zealand A. The decision is taken while keeping in mind the workload of Rohit Sharma. Thus, Rohit will travel with the senior team for the tour of Australia on November 16 from Mumbai. BCCI medical team has decided to give rest to Rohit Sharma.

Rohit Sharma had recently led India in the T20I series against the Windies, in which the hosts were able to clean sweep the visitors by 3-0. Rohit has made the cut into the Test squad for the four Test matches against Australia. In fact, it would have been good if Rohit could have got some match practice while playing for the India A against New Zealand A.

Rohit will look to carry his good form.

However, Rohit Sharma has been playing continuously in the limited overs format. He had also taken India to glory in the Asia Cup in the absence of full-time skipper Virat Kohli.

Thus, the flamboyant right-handed opener has done a fine job while leading India in the white ball version. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli will take back captaincy duties for the Australia tour.

Rohit has been in sublime form in the limited overs format and would look to carry the same form to red ball version. The right-hander hasn’t come good in foreign conditions in the longest format and would look to turn the tables on the Down Under tour.

There would not be much swing in Australian conditions and Rohit can savor success in the four Test matches. Meanwhile, India A will play under the tutelage of Rahul Dravid.
