It was a year that really got going well for the Indian vice-captain Rohit Sharma. He hit the peak performance after smashing a string of hundreds in the ICC ODI World Cup 2019, becoming the first player to score five centuries in a World Cup. He carried out the same impetus in the longest format and successfully evolved as a complete player across formats.

Rohit Sharma was given the opportunity to play as an opener after a long time. However, he grabbed the opportunity in both hands and scored a magnificent century against South Africa in the opening Test in Visakhapatnam. He went on to score a staggering 176 in the first innings and then followed it up with one more brilliant knock of 127 in the second innings as well.

India’s spin twins revealed the secret about their teammates as they picked Shivam Dube as the worst dancer in the Indian team. Rohit Sharma has recently shaved his beard. When asked about the reason behind it, the Indian opener disclosed that it’s because of his daughter Samaira Sharma that he had to get rid of it because she does not come near him when he is sporting a beard.

Rohit Sharma failed to perform in the first two matches as he got out for cheap scores- 8 & 15 runs respectively. However, he will be looking forward to putting on a good show in the decider. India won the T20I opener by 6 wickets at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad and West Indies came from behind to win the second match by 8 wickets at Kerala’s Greenfield International Stadium.

The series is currently level at 1-1 and the exciting decider will be played at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on December 11 (Wednesday). After that, India and West Indies will play three-match ODI series, with the first match scheduled to play at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai on December 15 (Sunday).
