"Will Be Different Ball Game": Rohit Sharma Wary Of Steve Smith, David Warner For Test Series Down Under

In absence of Steve Smith and David Warner, India pummeled Australia in their own backyard, recording their first-ever Test series triumph Down Under. But with the lethal pair returning after serving their ban for the ball-tampering scandal, India opener Rohit Sharma has cautioned his side early, as he feels it will be a different ball game.

In the 2018-19 Test series Down Under, India opened their account with a 31-run win in the first match. However, in the second match, Australia came back strongly to beat India by a big margin and level the series. Subsequently, in the third Test India clinched victory, with the fourth match ending in a draw.

Rohit Sharma: with those 2 guys back will be a different ball game

India’s tour to Australia is slated to take place at the end of the year. Though there are uncertainties due to novel coronavirus outbreak. But one thing certain is, the next Test series against Australia will be different, due to the return of Steve Smith and David Warner, believe Rohit Sharma. However, the prolific India batsman said, he is looking forward to the much-anticipated series.

“It will be a great Test series. I know, Australia in their own backyard with those 2 guys back will be a different ball game. As a team, us, we are playing our best cricket. We have got our bowlers and batters in the right frame of mind. We are quite looking forward to that series. If it happens, it will be a great series to be part of,” Rohit Sharma told India Today during the E-Conclave 2020.

The most successful captain in the IPL, Rohit Sharma, also came out in favour of playing the tournament behind closed doors. Rohit Sharma, who has led Mumbai Indians to four IPL triumphs, said he hopes everyone is following the guidelines in this devastating times. He also added, it is important, so that everyone can step out and start to do what they love eventually.
