Rohit Sharma has a team that includes a fair few raw ingredients and he knew a defeat like the Delhi T20I opener was always a distinct possibility. But he was proactive in identifying and sorting out the woes and which is why they responded immediately in the 2nd T20I in order to stay alive in the series.

Hitman Sharma played a match-winning captain’s knock which helped India ace the run-chase with relative ease. Having started his cricketing career as a middle-order batsman, his career changed drastically after 2013 when he was promoted as an opener considering that he is a natural stroke puller. The tactics by MS Dhoni and team management bore fruit as Rohit Sharma grabbed the opportunity in both hands. Today, he is now the biggest thing in the cricket world.

However, it is worth mentioning here that 2019 has truly been Rohit Sharma’s year. During the World Cup 2019 match against Sri Lanka, he became the first-ever batsman to score 5 centuries in the same World Cup tournament, equalling Sachin Tendulkar’s record for the most centuries in all ICC World Cup matches.

Hitman Rohit Sharma essayed 648 runs in the tournament and ended up as the leading run-scorer and went on to win the ICC’s Golden Bat award, becoming the third Indian player to accomplish the feat. Besides his on-field batting exploits, he has been a good captain on the field in Virat Kohli’s absence. This sums up the essential Rohit Sharma for you!
