S Sreesanth appeals Supreme Court for lifting the life ban

Indian fast bowler S Sreesanth has pleaded in the Supreme Court which further saw him challenging the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) owing to the life ban imposed on him.
In 2013, the 34-year-old pacer Sreesanth was handed over a life ban by the BCCI after the 2013 Indian Premier League (IPL) spot-fixing scandal surfaced and forced the Board to act swifty.

Interestingly, the verdict is bound to come on February 5 which further would discuss the fate of Kerala-based bowler.
According to the reports, Sreesanth in his petition maintained being as a professional he has all the right to maintain the decorum and live with the dignity which in the past has seen him breaking down before the media.
In July 2015, the Patiala House Court exempted as many as 36 accused which included Sreesanth after the fixing saga took Indian cricket by storm.
Moreover, the BCCI has already rejected to lift the life ban imposed on Sreesanth which further forced the bowler to file the request before the Chief Justice of India Justice Dipak Misra, who further agreed to hear the case.
Sreesanth and achievements:
Pertinently, Sreesanth was the part of 2007 Twenty20 World Cup while was followed by ICC 2011 World Cup victory at Wankhede under the leadership of Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
In 2013, Sreesanth was the part of IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals when four players were found guilty of the breach as the tournament is being conducted under the ambit of BCCI.
On October 17, 2017, Kerala court has revoked the life ban after the plea was filed by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for BCCI Rahul Johri.
Moreover, the Kerala High Court has rejected the decision regarding the bench of the single judge Sreesanth was under police custody in Delhi.

On January 31, Sreesanth’s legal representative has further remarked the case will be heard after Kerala’s bowler was asked to avoid the cricketing activities and the petition further remarked the legal review should not have taken place of the Board in nutshell
In August 2017, the bench based on single judge further quashed the decision of BCCI for the life ban being imposed on the bowler.
In 2015, BCCI handed over a life ban which further saw him being set free by Delhi court in 2016, however, the Board continues with imposing of the lengthy ban that subsequently forced Sreesanth to file the request in the High Court.
Concluding, Sreesanth also wants the apex body to reveal all the names who were included in the spot-fixing saga, as he referred to the Mukul Mudgal committee’s report.
