SA vs IND, 2018: Shikhar Dhawan posts an emotional message for his family

India had a long tour of South Africa and have been in the Rainbow Nation for over one-and-a-half-month now. The tourists have had a gruelling tour with the Test series followed by the One-day Internationals and Twenty20 Internationals series respectively.

India lost the Test series 2-1 but showed great grit and commitment in the longer format despite losing the first two Test convincingly.

India have been blessed that the top-order has fired in the ODI and in the first T20 match in Johannesburg. Shikhar Dhawan finished as the second highest run scorer in the ODI series just behind Virat Kohli. Dhawan scored 323 runs in the six innings he played which included a hundred.

Dhawan then continued his good form in the first T20 where he scored a blistering knock of 72 at the top of the order. Dhawan is enjoying a great time with the bat.

The Indian opener is famously known for his love towards his family and is a complete family man. Dhawan is very close to his two daughters and his son.

Dhawan’s family travelled to the Rainbow nation in the early part of the tour but flown back to India.

Dhawan wrote, “Only when u spend so much time away from familyly, you realize how much you actually miss them!I miss spending time with my kids, playing with them, cooking and being there for them. Also miss the Mrs like crazy! Want to spend quality time with her once I go back. Love you all to the moon & back!”
