SA vs IND 2018: Virender Sehwag Hails Special Knock From MS Dhoni

Virender Sehwag lavished praise on MS Dhoni and Manish Pandey in his own style after the duo steered India to a huge total in the second T20 International against South Africa. India were in a precarious position after being reduced to 45 for 3. What was even worrying that their reliable top-order batsmen – Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli – were back in the hut.

However, Pandey and Dhoni scored brilliant half-centuries to not only bail the team out of trouble but also helped it post a huge total. Dhoni joined Pandey on the pitch in the 11th over when Andile Phehlukwayo dismissed Raina to leave India reeling at 90 for 4. The duo then took the matters in their own hands and batted India to a position of strength.

As a result, India managed 55 runs off the last four overs. Dhoni went on a rampage right at the death to register his second fifty in T20Is. The former India skipper scored 17 runs from the final over to reach his fifty off just 27 balls.

On the other hand, Pandey reached his fifty off 33 balls and went on to finish on 79. The visitors scored a challenging 188 for 4  as Dhoni and Pandey added 98 off just 56 deliveries.

And as soon as India’s innings ended, Sehwag took to Twitter to post his customary tweet.
