Manish Pandey roared back to form, playing a brilliant knock of 79 as India posted 188 for 4 in the second T20 International in Centurion. Pandey was well supported by MS Dhoni who scored 52 off just 28 balls.

India had a tough start to the game after being asked to bat first. Chris Morris bowled a tough first over and did not concede any run. On the very next ball, Junior Dala dismissed Rohit Sharma for a duck. India then found their groove when Shikhar Dhawan hit Chris Morris for 20 runs in the third over. The in-form southpaw hit two fours and two sixes to break the shackles.

In the very next over, Suresh Raina hit Dane Paterson for three fours. However, the hosts took the command of the proceedings by taking two quick wickets. JP Duminy dismissed Shikhar Dhawan (24) against the run of play before Junior Dala accounted for Virat Kohli (1) to leave the hosts reeling at 45 for 3 after five overs.

Suresh Raina and Manish Pandey then steadied the ship. However, just when it looked the duo is set for a big stand, Andile Phehlukwayo dismissed Raina to  end the stand. The partnership was worth 45 runs.

Pandey and Dhoni then took the innings forward as India inched closer towards a good score. The Karnataka man was going for the big shots while Dhoni looked happy to play the second fiddle. Pandey reached his fifty off 33 balls.

The duo went on to share an unbeaten stand of 98 runs, helping India recover from 45 for 3 to post a good total. Dhoni completed his fifty in the final over by hitting Dane Paterson for a couple of fours and a six.
