SA vs IND, 3rd Test: Twitter Reacts As KL Rahul Fails To Deliver Again

Even a change in ground did not change KL Rahul’s fortunes as the opening batsman’s barren run with the bat continued in the ongoing third Test against South Africa too.

Rahul had almost cemented his place in the Test side after scoring seven consecutive half-centuries but his form has been going downhill since the ODI series in Sri Lanka last year. After failing to impress in the middle-order, the right-handed batsman lost his place in the ODI side and soon made way for Murali Vijay in the Test side after failing in the home series against Sri Lanka.

However, he got a golden opportunity to impress when he was recalled to the playing eleven for the second Test against South Africa after Shikhar Dhawan failed to deliver in the series-opener. But the Karnataka batsman failed to justify the team-management’s decision as his woeful form continued in his comeback game too. He could score only 10 and 4 in the second Test but was retained for the ongoing third Test in Johannesburg. But he once again disappointed with the bat, departing for a duck on a lively Wanderers pitch.

Meanwhile, India finished the first session of the ongoing game on 45 for 2. India were reeling at 13 for 2 but Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli helped them reach the break without suffering any further setback.
