Sachin Tendulkar Wishes Ajit Agarkar for his 41st Birthday

Legendary Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar wished former India fast bowler and teammate Ajit Agarkar on his 41st birthday on Monday (December 4).

The 44-year-old Tendulkar took to his official Twitter handle on the micro-blogging site Twitter while stating he has had shared special moments with the Mumbai-based Agarkar.

The latest tweet further revealed that batting hero shared his old-picture alongside Agarkar with the trophy.

“A very happy birthday to a great friend,” Tendulkar tweeted.

The Twitterati poured wishes in from around the world, as right-arm bowler played a significant role for India during his playing days.

“I’ve shared many special memories with over the years. Many happy returns of the day,” Tendulkar’s tweet added.

Pertinently, Tendulkar has shared the quality time alongside Agarkar.

Agarkar made his international debut in April 1998 against Australia at Kochi where he donned the coloured jersey to play the One-day international fixture.

The cricketer-turned-expert Agarkar in the same year in October made his Test debut against Zimbabwe at Harare.

However, in 2006, Agarkar made his Twenty20 International debut at Johannesburg where he faced South Africa.

Agarkar played 191 ODIs in which he collected 288 wickets at an average of 27.82. He collected 10 four-wicket hauls followed by two five-wicket hauls.

On 2002 tour to England, Agarkar scored unbeaten 109 off 190 balls at the iconic Lord’s cricket ground in London, as his innings included 16 boundaries.

Interestingly, Agarkar spent 238 minutes at the crease. However, England won that series opener by 170 runs.

However, in 2006, Agarkar made his Twenty20 International debut at Johannesburg where he faced South Africa.

In 26 Tests, Agarkar bagged 58 wickets. He has claimed the solitary five-wicket haul which came against Australia in the Border-Gavaskar series in Adelaide on December 12, 2013.

Moreover, Agarkar has represented two Indian Premier League (IPL) outfits Delhi Daredevils and Kolkata Knight Riders.

In the past, Agarkar had enjoyed a stint with English County side Middlesex which further saw him representing state side Mumbai in the first-class format.

Agarkar managed to pick 349 wickets across the top-flight cricket while representing the national side.

Agarkar played 110 four-day fixtures and 270 List A matches which further saw him featuring in 62 T20 games.

Concluding, Agarkar played his last international fixture against New Zealand at Johannesburg which was also the first-ever Twenty World Cup in the cricketing history that India won against Pakistan by five runs at the same venue on September 24, 2007.
