Sachin Tendulkar Congratulates Virat Kohli on Clean Sweeping the ICC Awards

India’s former legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar has congratulated Indian skipper Virat Kohli on clean sweeping the ICC Awards. Virat Kohli has been adjudged as the ICC Cricketer of the Year, ICC ODI Player of the year and ICC Test player of the year, thus whitewashing all the awards. Consequently, he became the first player to bag all the top awards at the ICC Awards.

Furthermore, Virat Kohli is the captain of the ICC Test team as well as ODI team of 2018. Kohli was at his absolute best in 2018 and scored his runs consistently. The talisman batsman scored 1322 runs from 13 Tests, 1202 from 14 ODIs and 211 from T20Is.

Kohli was at his usual best.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli had also received the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for ICC Cricketer of the Year in 2017. Kohli has been instrumental in the success of the team and he is also leading from the front.

In fact, Virat Kohli is the most consistent batsman in the world. He had scored 593 runs on the England tour to be the best batsman on the tour in English conditions. Kohli has batted at the top of his game and his hunger for the runs is never satiated.

“It feels amazing. It’s a reward for all the hard work that you do throughout the calendar year. I feel really grateful and very, very happy with the team doing well at the same time myself performing. Having recognition at the global level from the ICC is something you feel proud of as a cricketer because you understand that there are many players playing the game,” he said.

“To be rewarded in this manner from amongst all of them is obviously a very proud moment for me and something that gives you more motivation to keep repeating the same things because you have to keep the standard of cricket up and keep bringing in consistent performances. From that point of view, these awards give you that extra motivation.”

Virat Kohli has scored his runs all over the world and he has been rewarded for his hard work. Kohli has put in extra yards and he has borne fruits for the same. The linchpin batsman has scored 39 ODI hundreds and also became the quickest to reach the 10000 ODI runs landmark.
