In a beautiful gesture, former India batsman Sachin Tendulkar has gifted cricket kit to a disabled tribal boy named Maddaram from Maoist insurgency hit Bastar. The legendary batsman, who is fondly called the God of Cricket, has won all the hearts once again by sending the kit along with a note of love encouraging the kid to continue playing.
Maddaram Kawasi had hit headlines after his video went viral when Sachin Tendulkar himself shared it. In the video, the young boy could be seen crawling on the pitch to make a run using his one hand and another holding a bat. The 12-year old was full of enthusiasm while playing the game as no obstacle stopped him from enjoying his time out on the pitch.

According to the Times of India, Maddaram is currently in Raipur to play a wheelchair final match. He received the gift from Sachin Tendulkar’s manager and has his hopes high now to make a future in cricket. In the picture that is going viral on internet, Maddaram can be seen holding the bat sent by Sachin close to his chest.
“This is the best day of my life to receive a gift from the legend of cricket – the game so close to my heart. Holding the bat I feel a gush of blood in my body that gives me power to manifest what I want to become. My disability doesn’t stop me dreaming and I have been playing cricket for the last one year and enjoy the game to core,” said the kid.
On the other hand, Sachin Tendulkar, in his note, wrote: “I feel very happy to see the way you are enjoying this game. This gift is a token of love for you and your friends. Continue playing.”
