Sachin Tendulkar Sends Birthday Greetings to Shikhar Dhawan

Cricketing legend, Sachin Tendulkar has poured wishes on the opener, Shikhar Dhawan, who turns 33 on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the southpaw is not a part of India’s squad to Australia for the four-match Test series, which begins on December 6th in Adelaide.

‘Gabbar’ turns a year elder

The swashbuckling opener, who didn’t get picked for Tests recently had shown some confidence in the limited-formats of the game. In the recently-concluded three-match T20Is against Australia, Dhawan got adjudged as the player of the series.

Meanwhile, Shikhar Dhawan has had a decorated cricketing career thus far, primarily in the limited-overs. In the year 2013, he became the part of the ICC World ODI team. Moreover, in that year, he also became the International Player of the Year, while in 2018 he was selected as the International Batsman of the Year. Also, the left-hander registered the fastest century as a debutant in Tests, as he completed hundred in 85 balls.

More accolades in Dhawan’s kitty

Apart from winning the golden bat twice in the ICC Champions Trophies in 2013 and 2017, Shikhar Dhawan, in the 2015 WC was India’s highest run-scorer. Meanwhile, the Delhi-lad also won the Wisden Cricketer of the Year title in 2014.

So far, Shikhar has scored 2315 runs for India in 34 Tests including his career-best score of 190 and also has seven hundred to his name. Talking about the ODIs, the left-hander has scored 4935 runs in 115 games. In the 50-over format, Shikhar has scored 15 centuries and had a best of 137 runs. In 46 T20I matches, Dhawan has scored 1232 runs with 92 being his top score.

Sachin Tendulkar, who had played with Dhawan in the IPL and the Indian team poured good wishes on him. Furthermore, Sachin wished him luck ahead of the new season.
