Former India captain MS Dhoni turned 37 on Saturday (July 7). And as expected wishes poured in from all the quarters. And among all those messages, his wife Sakshi Dhoni’s message was perhaps the best of the lot.

Sakshi took to Instagram to share a picture and a message for her husband, writing:

Happy Bday to you ! Even words wont do justice to how you are as a human being … 10 years i have learnt a lot from you … and continue to .. thank u for making me see and deal with life in a straightforward practical way .. .. Lot’s of love n also thank u for making my life so beautiful !

Dhoni is currently in England with the Indian team for the ongoing T20I series. Just a couple of hours before his birthday, he achieved yet another milestone when the second T20I began. Dhoni became only the third Indian after the legendary duo Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid to play 500 international games.

He is one of the finest players to have represented India in the game. As far as his captaincy record is concerned, he is the most decorated Indian in the history of the game.

The only captain to have won all the global ICC trophies till date, the wicketkeeper-batsman made his debut as a 23-year old in December 2004 against Bangladesh. He was run-out for a duck in his debut match but soon proved his worth by slamming 148 against Pakistan in only his 5th ODI.

There was no looking back since then and he was given the charge of the team during the inaugural World T20 when the senior players skipped the tournament. But defying all the odds, the wonder boy from Ranchi led the youngsters to the title. Within a year of that victory, he became the skipper of the team in all the three formats. The decision proved to be a masterstroke, as Dhoni reached unprecedented heights as the skipper of the team.

After leading India to the historic tri-series win in Australia, he steered the team to the top of Test rankings for the first time in 2009. Two years later, the finest moment of his career came when his unbeaten knock of 91 runs ended India’s long wait for the second World Cup.

Dhoni completed the treble of ICC trophies a couple of years later when he led the Men in Blue to the Champions Trophy title in England.
