Sanju Samson will have to at least for a couple of more days to see whether he will finally play for India once again. The right-handed made his T20I debut way back in 2015 and is yet to play another game. He was recalled to the T20I side for the series against Bangladesh last month. With Virat Kohli rested for the series, it was expected that Sanju Samson would be given a chance in the middle-order.

But to everyone’s surprise, the highly-rated batsman warmed the bench throughout the three-match series. He was then surprisingly dropped for the ongoing series against West Indies. Selectors had no choice but to drop him as they needed to make room for captain Kohli. Unsurprisingly, they faced criticism from all around for dropping Samson without giving him a chance.

But fortunately for Samson, he made it to the squad after injury ruled senior opener Shikhar Dhawan out of the squad. Dhawan injured his knee while playing for Delhi in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and the selectors were quick to recall Samson. But as far as featuring in the playing eleven is concerned, Sanju Samson is still unlucky.

He was benched for the ongoing first T20I against West Indies too as India preferred for Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant as their number four and five batsman respectively. Samson will now be praying that luck finally smiles at him when both the teams move to Thiruvananthapuram for the second T20I on December 8.

Fans unhappy:

The fans, meanwhile, were quick to react to the news as they slammed the Indian team-management for constantly ignoring Sanju Samson. The fans came up with sarcastic reasons to justify the snub as they vented their frustration all over the social media.
