Things are just not falling into place for Pakistan skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed at the moment. Pakistan’s inconsistent displays coupled with his poor form with the bat has seen the wicketkeeper-batsman facing criticism from all around. Sarfaraz Ahmed had a tough World Cup where Pakistan failed to progress ahead of the group stage.

His horrific displays with the bat in the mega event did not help his cause either. What made things even worse for the Pakistan captain is his poor fitness. All hell broke lose when he was seen yawning while India were cruising against Pakistan in the World Cup game. After the defeat, Sarfaraz Ahmed and his teammates became the butt of all jokes with fans criticising the players’ fitness and their training regime.

And in a video that went viral, a Pakistani fan was even seen body-shaming Sarfaraz Ahmed. The fan was seen calling the skipper before asking him why he was “fat as a pig”. The Pakistan star, however, had decided against reacting to the abuse and had slowly walked away with his son in his lap.

Recently, Pakistan were whitewashed by a second-string Sri Lankan side in a three-match T20I series. Sarfaraz’s scores in the series read 24, 26 and 17 as he failed to save his team from the embarrassing defeat at the hands of the Islanders. And the much-talked-about wicketkeeper is set to face more heat after he has reportedly decided against leading Sindh in Pakistan’s domestic circuit.

Pakistani journalist Saj Sadiq, on Monday, tweeted that Sarfaraz Ahmed has decided not to lead Sindh after being asked some tough questions by the journalists at a recent press-conference.

“Reports state Sarfaraz Ahmed has decided not to captain Sindh at the National T20 Cup as he is upset after he was asked tough questions at a recent press conference #Cricket #NationalT20Cup,” wrote the Pakistani journalist.
