City of joy no fun for Gambhir?

Gautam Gambhir posed with some of his fans, on his way back to the team hotel after helping Delhi clinch the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy on Friday night. To have the winner’s medal around the neck was nothing new for the 36-year-old, having led Kolkata Knight Riders to two IPL trophies in the past. But the city of joy seemed stranger to him all of a sudden, after all, he is back at the auction.

After a good day at the office, Gambhir sips in a cup of strong black coffee with the tv remote on his left hand. He aimlessly switches from DD national to Discovery before settling for Zee cinemas. The former KKR skipper finds his ex-owner on the screen, cheering for his hockey team in a nail-biting contest. He sends a text with minimal characters to SRK- ‘Chak De was your best, goodnight!’

Bhajji-Yuvi sort it out over lassi

‘Yaar! Neeta bhabi ne insta mei follow back nei kia’-Harbhajan

Harbhajan Singh’s internship with Mumbai Indians can be a career goal for many. He had the best of everything off the field. While on the field, Bhajji managed to bowl his quota of four overs and even enjoyed whacking a few out of the park. Sitting at the ‘Sher-e-Jalandhar’ dhaba, the turbanator asks his ‘bff’ Yuvraj on his future plans.

The dashing southpaw keeps a straight face and says nothing.  After a while, Yuvi says ‘Kal pata chalega kaun kaun mere dost hai market mei’. Harbhajan tries to ease his nerves saying- ‘Laxman bhai le sakte hai tujhe’. Yuvi was quick to reply ‘Nei Bhajji, usne follow kia tha saare matches iss season, chance hi nei’.

South African players in hot waters

The likes of Kagiso Rabada and Morne Morkel try to reach out to the Indian skipper Virat Kohli. Royal Challengers Bangalore always go into the IPL with a bowler short and this time the think tank had their plans in place. Knowing so, the Proteas pacers had a fair bit of idea about where the moolah is hiding.

Kohli is in no mood to forgive the hosts for what they did to his team. Indian head coach Ravi Shastri was seen shouting on top of his voice ‘ Was this a pitch or a peg Kagiso? It is hitting on the head’. Young Kagiso smiles sheepishly while Morkel says’ I have heard that the ODIs will be played on flat tracks. It is a decision taken on a mutual note from both the parties’.

No one bat an eye, only time will tell whether the ploy works or not for the sensations of the rainbow nation.
