Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella made a straightforward choice when it came to picking up his favourite cricketers. A cricket fanatic Nadella, picked batting legend, Sachin Tendulkar, as his favourite cricketer from the past and chose India captain Virat Kohli as his present favourite.

“I would say Sachin from yesterday and Virat today,” Nadella was quoted as saying by IANS.

Nadella has done wonders for Microsoft. A post-graduate from University of Chicago Booth School of Business, Nadella said, he would prefer coding for cricket as it is a changeable resource for great future.

“I would prefer coding for cricket. I met Anil Kumble yesterday. He has a startup where cricket bats are equipped with Internet of Things (IoT) sensors. Coding is one thing that I would say is a malleable, changeable resource for a great future,” Nadella said.

“I always think of coding is like poetry, it’s just compact expression. So I think coding can inspire you, in both liberal arts as well as in the sciences, to really make a difference,” he added.

Tendulkar and Kohli, might be separated by a generation, but are arguably the finest cricketers to have donned the Team India jersey.

The Mumbaikar scored a record 100 international centuries and was the first men’s cricketer to score a double century. His ‘desert storm’ in April 1998, which enabled India to the tri-series title in Sharjah had further affirmed his status as the best player.

Kohli, at present, continues to make things look ridiculously easy. Additionally, he is also the most successful Indian Test captains. With 43 One-Day International (ODI) centuries, he is only six behind, to match Tendulkar’s tally of 49.

Nadella, perhaps, made the easiest choice when it came to picking up his favourite cricketers.
