In the latest development, the International Cricket Council has announced the schedule for the ICC U19 World Cup 2020.
The Indian National Cricket Team will enter into the tournament as the defending champions, having won in the previous edition. Last time, it was under the watchful eyes of Rahul Dravid, India won the tournament. The likes of Prithvi Shaw, Shubman Gill helped India to seal the cup.

It was a star-studded team for India with the likes of Anukul Roy, Manjoth Kalra, Harvik Desai in the side while the bowling department got Shivam Mavi and Kamlesh Nagarkoti, who has now become the regulars in the senior team at the domestic level.
South Africa will host the event:
Well, coming back to the topic, the Apex body has announced the schedule for the upcoming U19 World Cup. The 24-day tournament will be hosted by South Africa, who will also play the tournament opener against Afghanistan. All the matches will have free entry.
Eleven full Members appeared in the last edition in New Zealand and the five regional champions, who have qualified for the event, will also play warm-up matches from 12-15 January in Johannesburg and Pretoria. This time, a few surprises are on the way with the associates improving better and better.
“The U19 Cricket World Cup is a very important event in our calendar as it brings together the world’s most promising young players in a major ICC tournament, giving them the experience of competing on the global stage,” ICC head of events Chris said.
So far, India have won the title four times, Australia have won three times, Pakistan have won it twice while England, South Africa and the West Indies have won once each.
