Scotland's All-Rounder Con de Lange is Struggling with Brain Tumor

Cricket Scotland has initiated a fundraising campaign for the left-arm spinning all-rounder, Con de Lange who is suffering from a brain tumor.
Con De Lange was not a part of Scotland’s squads since the end of 2017.
However, the communication of his health status came after the announcement of Scotland’s team for the World Cup Qualifiers in Zimbabwe in March. A press release on Monday from Cricket Scotland stated Con de Lange was diagnosed ten months ago. He has undergone an operation, radiotherapy and chemotherapy and a clinical trial.
“Cricket Scotland continues to support Con and his family, and we have respected his wishes for confidentiality throughout this difficult period,” Cricket Scotland chief executive Malcolm Cannon said in the press release.
“Con has been a superb servant to the game of cricket in Scotland and is a very popular member of the squad. We are now delighted to help the cause by spreading the word throughout the broader cricketing family both at home and overseas, and we know there will be an overwhelming level of support from this close-knit community,” he added.
However, Con de Lange played his last match for Scotland on November 25, 2017.
The all-rounder played the second ODI against Papua New Guinea where he acted the role of vice-captain. Moreover, he also played for Scotland against Ireland for the final round of the Intercontinental Cup.
The 39-year old was among the team members against Kenya for the final round of the WCL Championship in Dubai.
Furthermore, Con de Lange made his T20 debut for the Scotland team in June 2015. He was moreover a key component for his team. De Lange is exceptionally good at the middle and lower-order batting line up. He is also a tremendous fielder with his good all-round bowling attack. Lange’s five for 60 against Zimbabwe was his best performance in 2017 which helped them to secure an excellent win.
Cricket Scotland along with family members of Con de Lange is appealing for donations to The Brain Tumor Charity.
