Meanwhile, there has been a lot of factors working behind the growing outrage. The first and foremost was the scrapping of the franchise-based Bangladesh Premier League. The cricketing board has also not decided to increase the salary of the first-class players. Thus, an average professional cricketer’s income has hit the all-time low as they are finding it tough to sustain their families.

In another interview with the Dialy Star, the brightest star of Bangladesh cricket, Shakib said that he didn’t see any long-term planning in Bangladesh cricket. He voiced his opinion for a long term policy which can only change the face of the game in the country.

“Actually, we only focus on whatever series we have going on. But if it’s something like a World Cup, then maybe we plan six to eight months in advance. Otherwise, we only focus on the ongoing series. It’s a cultural thing,” he said. “People expect that we will win all matches. We plant a tree and crave the fruits the very next day. This is why it’s difficult to plan long-term,” Shakib said.
